Tenways is rapidly expanding its portfolio. Hot on the heels of the recently unveiled Tenways CGO Compact, the new AGO X Special Edition is now here. While the CGO models feature hub motors and are clearly designed for urban ease, the AGO series uses powerful mid-drive motors – with more torque and a touring-friendly design – as urban all-rounders.
To put this into context, it is worth taking a brief look back. The first AGO X from 2023 was the first Tenways model with a mid-drive motor. This series has been continuously expanded, most recently with the Tenways AGO Air – with a pleasantly slim silhouette and a motor that is labelled by Tenways itself for the first time. While the AGO Air is only available as a low step-through model, the AGO X continues to feature the classic diamond frame with a high top tube – sportier and with high torsional rigidity.
Here’s what’s new on the AGO X Special Edition
In its new model generation, however, the new AGO X Special Edition now comes with a completely new frame that looks significantly sleeker and more dynamic.
Like other newer models, the new AGO X does away with the previous design feature of integrated headlights. Instead, the headlight is now positioned below the handlebars, while the rear light is neatly integrated into the rack.
But back to the frame: it houses the 560 Wh battery, which can be easily removed for charging. It also houses the drive, simply referred to as the ‘Tenways mid-motor’, which offers adequate power with 80 Nm of torque.
The ambient light on the seat tube can be described as a real gimmick: a pulsating light signature that characterises this special edition as an exclusive design element.
As with its predecessor, the new AGO X Special Edition‘s all-round capabilities are evident in its suspension fork. The 100 mm of travel is designed to cushion bumps on rough roads and significantly increase comfort, and the bike is also fitted with 57 mm wide tyres.
Hydraulic disc brakes are included as standard, as is a sturdy luggage rack with the MIK HD system, which can carry up to 27 kilograms. Mudguards, German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO)-compliant lighting and a bicycle stand complete the standard equipment. An interesting detail: there are mounting points on the front of the head tube where an optional front carrier can be attached.
The new bike is available in two metallic colours: neutral Starlight Silver and green Olive Moss. Initially, the new AGO X Special Edition will only be available in frame size L, which is suitable for riders between 170 and 185 cm tall.

With its new AGO X Special Edition, Tenways offers a contemporary update to its popular all-round e-bike: powerful mid-drive motor, removable battery, fully equipped ex works – and an attractive design with a slim silhouette. The price is also slim, as Tenways offers the AGO X Special Edition for an affordable 2,199 euros directly here in its online shop.
The previous version of the bike will remain in the range for the time being as AGO X Classic Edition for 1,799 euros – although you will have to make do with a slightly smaller battery, a rack that is not MIK-compatible and the old design.
