Tenways is expanding its model range for the upcoming season with a new, compact bike – the CGO Compact, an e-bike developed specifically for everyday urban use. It combines compact dimensions with functional everyday practicality and a clean, modern design.
The CGO Compact is designed as a versatile everyday bike and covers a wide range of uses – from daily commuting and shopping to spontaneous leisure rides. Despite its compact design, the model offers a good balance of comfort, stability and transportability. Practical: the 500 Wh battery not only offers a pleasingly high capacity, but can also be removed from the frame for charging. Propulsion is provided by Tenways’ own C9 hub motor in the rear wheel, which we recently tested here in the Tenways CGO 600 Plus – and which impressed us with its whisper-quiet and natural propulsion!
Instead of a traditional chain, a Gates CDN carbon belt is used – a solution that is considered low-maintenance and clean, as no lubrication is required. The drive concept is complemented by a suspension seat post, which is designed to cushion bumps in urban traffic and increase riding comfort.
A MIK HD luggage rack is installed for transport tasks, which can carry up to 27 kilograms, while additional mounting points allow baskets, bags or child seats to be attached. In addition to the luggage rack, the bike’s comprehensive everyday equipment also includes an integrated rear light, a front headlight, mudguards and a side stand. This makes the bike ideal for users who want to replace short car journeys in their everyday lives.
The CGO Compact’s main thing is its space-saving design, which is made for easy handling and storage – a big plus in flats with limited space or when you’re carrying it around in your car. A swivelling stem from By.Schultz, foldable pedals and a built-in carrying handle make it easy to stash away in tight stairwells or small basement rooms.
The low step-through frame and height-adjustable handlebars allow the bike to be adapted to different body sizes, making it suitable for households with multiple users. The compact 20-inch tyres are designed to combine manoeuvrability with stable handling in city traffic.
