Without an motor at all: the Carpe and Vector Urban Bikes from Orbea

The e-bike market is currently booming – that is why quite a few urban bikes with electric drive are currently being presented here as well. In the shadow of these models there are, of course, still enough regular bikes on the market available as well. With the Carpe and Vector series, Orbea offers a number of interesting urban bikes, some of which look similar to the e-bikes of the popular Gain series – but without a motor.

The Carpe series is the slightly less expensive and visually more eye-catching series in Orbea’s Urban Bike Line-up. All models are equipped with a derailleur system and disc brakes. The saddle is from Velo, the tyres are always 38 mm wide Kenda models. There are four different colors to choose from, some of them even come with matching painted rims. The prices are between 529 and 999 Euro:

  • Orbea Carpe 40: 7-speed derailleur Shimano TY-300, mechanical disc brakes Shimano TX805, 529 Euro
  • Orbea Carpe 30: 8-speed derailleur Shimano Altus M310, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT200, 629 Euro
  • Orbea Carpe 20: 9-speed derailleur Shimano Altus M2000, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT201, 699 Euro

In addition, there are two models with complete commuter equipment: SKS mudguards, carrier and a Spanninga lighting system with front wheel dynamo are already installed here as standard:

  • Orbea Carpe 25: 8-speed derailleur Shimano Altus M310, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT200, 799 Euro
  • Orbea Carpe 10: 10-speed derailleur Shimano XT, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT201, 999 Euro

The Vector series is Orbea’s new multi-function bicycle that offers great versatility. Vector is a combination of lightweight and durability and should be suitable for the way to work as well as for an extra ride through the park. The choice of colors corresponds to the models of the electric Gain series – not only for this reason do the bikes look very similar. The Kenda tyres are slightly narrower with 32 mm each, disc brakes, derailleur gears (with two chainrings in the front) and a Selle Royal Asphalt GR caliper are standard components here. The prices are between 729 and 1.699 Euro:

  • Orbea Vector 30: 2×8-speed derailleur system Shimano Claris, mechanical disc brakes Shimano TX805, 729 Euro
  • Orbea Vector 20: 2×9 gear derailleur Shimano Sora, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT200, carbon fork, 829 Euro
  • Orbea Vector 10: 2×10 gear derailleur Shimano Tiagra, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT201, carbon fork, 1.099 Euro
  • Orbea Vector Drop: 2×10 gear derailleur Shimano Tiagra, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano Tiagra, carbon fork and racing handlebar, 1.299 Euro

In addition, there are three models with complete commuter equipment: SKS mudguards, carrier and a Spanninga lighting system with front wheel dynamo are already included as standard:

  • Orbea Vector 15: 2×9 gear derailleur Shimano Sora, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano MT200, carbon fork, 999 Euro
  • Orbea Vector Drop LTD: 2×10 gear derailleur Shimano Tiagra, hydraulic disc brakes Shimano Tiagra, carbon fork and racing handlebar as well as Brooks Cambium saddle and handlebar tape, 1.699 Euro
