Stromer ST2: also their latest S-Pedelec relies on Pinion’s innovative gearbox

The cooperation between Stromer — the Swiss specialist for S-Pedelecs — and the German gearbox manufacturer Pinion works quite well, as was recently impressively demonstrated by the Stromer ST7: a superlative S-Pedelec, equipped for the first time with the electric version of the Pinion gearbox. In addition, the Stromer ST3 is another Pinion bike on offer, but this time in the mechanically operated version. The Stromer ST2 Pinion, which also relies on the innovative bottom bracket gearbox, is a brand new addition.

Just to remind you: the predecessor Stromer ST2 Belt had an integrated 5-speed hub gear from Sturmey Archer installed, while the new Pinion model is now equipped with 6 gears. The belt drive is of course retained in the new model and ensures a clean and largely maintenance-free drive. The drive system is combined with a hub motor in the rear wheel, which offers 750 watts of power and also has a function for recuperation — so downhill the motor can be used to generate electricity for a longer range. In combination with the 655 Wh battery, ranges of up to 120 km should be possible.

For better ergonomics, the Stromer ST2 Pinion is equipped with an adjustable stem from Satori, which can be individually adapted to the body size and seating position of the rider. In addition, there is also a mount of the new SP Connect+ system, with which the smartphone can be attached. This provides an additional option, alongside the OMNI C display integrated into the frame, for accessing riding data via the smartphone app — connectivity here is wireless via Bluetooth. The Pirelli Angel GT Urban tires in 27.5″ format are quite fat with 57 mm and should ensure sufficient riding comfort — after all, you often ride the S-pedelec at the european legal limit of 45 km/h!

In addition to the Sport frame variant with a higher top tube, the Stromer ST2 Pinion is also available as a Comfort with a trapezoid frame for a more comfortable entry. Interested parties can choose between the colors black or white, and there is also a limited Launch Edition in the Electric Green shown here. Prices start at 6,890 euros, which is currently the most affordable way to ride a Stromer bike with a Pinion gearbox.
