Decathlon recently refreshed its successful R500 E cargo bike model with a small, but fine update. In this article, we have looked at it in detail and explained the advantages of the new features. The update also came with two new color variants, namely a light sand and the greenish khaki.

Already announced but not yet available was a third variant in red, which according to Decathlon will be produced in limited quantities. But now the time has (already) come: this red color variant is now listed in the Decathlon store. Compared to the other paint finishes, the bright matt surface offers the strongest contrast to the wooden elements on the loading area and gives the bike a fresh look! In terms of price and features, the bike is identical to the versions already available and therefore costs also a fair 2,999 euros.

A real bargain, especially as the extensive equipment with suspension fork, footrests, railing and front carrier is already included in the scope of delivery. The battery has a large capacity of 672 Wh and supplies power to the hub motor in the rear wheel, which offers 58 Nm of torque. The drive is controlled via a torque sensor — a system whose advantages we have explained in detail here.

The new version of the bike can now be ordered directly online and will then be delivered free of charge to the nearest Decathlon store or, for 29.99 euros, directly to your home.
