Not a detailed test, but a brief first impression: In this series, we show you interesting new e-bikes of the season in a compact format.
As part of the new Light series, the Endeavour L Move for 3,499 euros is the most affordable bike in this model range from Kalkhoff. A fully equipped commuter bike that only weighs around 21 kg thanks to the new and lightweight Bosch SX drive.
Our impression
Let’s start with the obvious: the shimmering matt paint finish called Oceanshades is a real eye-catcher and gives the bike a dynamic look. Nevertheless, the riding position is quite comfortable thanks to the adjustable stem and the ergonomically curved handlebars. In addition, the 50 mm wide tires can also be ridden with a slightly lower tire pressure, which means you will hardly miss a suspension fork on urban terrain. Instead, the rigid fork offers mounting points for additional luggage, which also applies to the frame: a sturdy front rack can be fitted as an option in addition to the standard MIK system rack.
For a commuter bike like this, it goes without saying that the Endeavour L Move has a permanently installed lighting system and mudguards. What is remarkable, however, is the ability to conveniently remove the 400 Wh CompactTube battery for charging — not a matter of course for many new bikes with Bosch’s SX system. The electric drive is operated via the Purion 200 display on the handlebars, which shows all the important information in a compact form. Shimano’s new Cues series with 9 gears is used as the derailleur system.
Further information on the Endeavour L Move and the other new lightweight models can be found in our detailed article and directly on Kalkhoff’s website. By the way, a detailed test of the Entice L Advance SUV model will follow shortly — so it’s worth staying tuned!
