The LightSKIN bicycle lighting system, which conforms to the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO), was awarded the renowned Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category. It is awarded for outstanding design by a jury consisting of 40 international experts.
Jaeyong Lee, founder of the Korean company LightSKIN, is enthusiastic about this award and sees his product philosophy confirmed once again. On behalf of LightSKIN, he thanks Schindelhauer for the successful implementation of all requirements of the StVZO. The German bicycle manufacturer was able to contribute a great deal of expertise regarding German road traffic laws as well as technical know-how in bicycle construction.
LightSKIN LED Seat Post (StVZO)
The LightSKIN LED seat post has five integrated LED lights, which provide optimal safety on the road from every angle. The internal battery can be charged via Micro USB and allows a light duration of 10 hours (three active LEDs) to 15 hours (five active LEDs) depending on the mode. Thanks to its minimalist design, the LightSKIN LED seat post is weatherproof, theft-proof and meets all requirements of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) in this revised model.
LightSKIN LED handlebars (StVZO)
The puristic LightSKIN LED handlebars offer an integrated front light with the world’s smallest lens, which complies with the light-dark limit required for StVZO approval. The light output is a maximum of 150 lumens and has a runtime of up to six hours thanks to an internally installed rechargeable battery. The battery can be recharged via Micro USB. An optimized metal circuit board ensures excellent heat dissipation despite the narrow design.
Deliveries delayed due to very high demand
In the course of extremely high demand for LightSKIN products, especially the LED handlebars, sales partner Schindelhauer announced an increase in delivery times by several weeks for B2B and B2C customers. As a result, production quantities have been increased significantly.
