First the bad news: No, Specialized still does not offer the products of the sub-brand Globe here in Europe. We had already discussed the issue in detail at the launch of the Globe Haul ST in this article, where you can get all the info on the compact cargo bike.

In short, the Haul is a compact cargo bike with a hub motor in the rear wheel, a 772 Wh battery and a high system weight of up to 190 kg. It is also quite affordable: in the U.S., the bike costs USD 2,800, which is currently equivalent to about 2,600 euros (before taxes).

As a companion to the short Haul ST, Globe is now launching the Globe Haul LT, a longtail version with an extended rear cargo area. This can be used — typical for the whole class of longtail bikes — versatile: Specialized’s sturdy bags can be hung on the side, and the long surface can also be used as a seat. Child seats can also be mounted on it, or a mixture of seat and cargo. Just as the users just need it! The permissible system weight is the Haul LT at 200 kg, the Gapäckträger rear may be loaded with 80 kg.

While the Haul ST is available in three colors, those interested in the longtail variant have to make do with the bright Gloss White Mountains paint – no problem, because this color suits the bike perfectly! More relevant is certainly the surcharge of the LT model, because here Globe requires USD 3,500 (which currently corresponds to about 3,200 euros before tax).

Here in Europe, we still have to wait and see if and when the bikes from Globe will be available here. In any case, it would be a good idea!
