The Berlin-based team at Schindelhauer Bikes have unveiled a truly innovative bike design: the ThinBike is a compact bike designed for urban use and for anyone who wants or needs to store their bike in their home or office. Thanks to its folding handlebars and retractable pedals, the bike is much easier to carry and takes up far less space when parked than conventional bikes. The design is rounded off with relatively small 24-inch tyres, which certainly contribute to the pleasantly low total weight of 10 kg.
In typical Schindelhauer fashion, the bike is fitted with a maintenance-free carbon belt drive (which operates without oil or grease and therefore won’t smear your trousers), a front disc brake, a 2-speed automatic gearbox from SRAM with a coaster brake at the rear, and the Lightskin seatpost with an integrated rear light. Attention to detail is also evident in the brake lever, which features an integrated bell.

All in all, the ThinBike seems to be a very well-designed city bike, which is also a pleasure to look at thanks to its stylish design – whether on the road or hanging on the wall at home.
