After the special edition of their Stadtfuchs Urban Bike, Urwahn Bikes and Vagabund Moto are now cooperating for the second time: this time on the basis of the new Platzhirsch e-bike, which continues the unique style of the first edition.
The frame comes in two colors with black paint on the front and the raw and untreated finish on the rear — a look that gives the exceptional frame extra attention. Exceptional because the frame does without a classic seat tube and is created using 3D printing. In combination with the (relatively flexible) frame material steel, this results in a design with elastic structures that can slightly compensate for bumps in the road and should provide a more comfortable ride.
Technically, the model is similar to the regular Platzhirsch — comes as with the Mahle X35+ system, consisting of hub motor in the rear wheel and a permanently installed battery with 250 Wh. The singlespeed drive has the Gates Carbon Drive belt instead of a conventional bicycle chain, also the integrated Lightskin lighting system worth mentioning, where the headlight and taillight are installed in the handlebars and the seatpost. In terms of components, however, the special edition offers broader gravel tires from Continental and also a saddle and handlebar grips from the weatherproof Brooks Cambium series.
At a price of 4,999 euros, the unique bike can be ordered via the website of Vagabund Moto, on the website of Urwahn Bikes can also find more information about the Platzhirsch.
