With its limited edition Stardust, Texlock is once again launching a new design variant of its textile bike locks—this time inspired by the aesthetics of the universe. The combination of deep black and bright accents gives the lock a discreet but striking look.

Deep black and bright accents: the Stardust Edition 2025

Design and material—inspired by the cosmos

The color scheme of the Stardust edition focuses on contrasts: dark tones stand for depth and stability, while fine neon lines add a dynamic touch. Similar to stars on a clear night, these accents vary in intensity depending on the incidence of light. The design not only follows aesthetic principles, but also contributes to visibility and therefore safety on the road.

Flexible fibers for versatile bike protection

The materials also have a connection to space travel: the high-tech fibers used are particularly strong and light—properties that they have in common with materials used in protective suits, sun sails or the outer shell of spacecraft. This technology is used here in the form of a multi-layer braid which, together with the steel core on the inside, provides security against theft.

Eyelet and Orbit—two locks in Stardust design

The Stardust edition is available in two different versions: the Texlock classics Eyelet and Orbit. Both offer high safety standards and combine functionality with a unique design.

  • Texlock Orbit is a compact textile cable lock in which the cable and lock form a single unit. It is particularly suitable for quick use in urban areas and its robust design is intended to ensure reliable protection against theft.

Space knowledge for the next generation

One percent of the proceeds from the Stardust edition will go towards supporting an astronomical education project: Austrian astronomer Dr. Ruth Grützbauch is traveling the country with a mobile planetarium to bring children and young people closer to space. Her 15 m² inflatable star tent is transported sustainably by cargo bike and enables interactive experiences in schools, museums and at events. Texlock is funding four demonstrations in Leipzig in the fall of 2025 to offer schoolchildren an exciting insight into astronomy. Since the launch of the Texlock Special Editions, part of the proceeds have been used for charitable purposes—with Stardust, the focus is on imparting knowledge about the universe. The combination of mobility, technology and education also reflects Texlock’s philosophy.
