Together with chinese car manufacturer NIO, Lemmo recently unveiled the Lemmo Zero — a foldable electric bike made from carbon fibre. The bike can now be pre-ordered on the manufacturer’s website, and further details about this innovative folding bike are now also available.

Clever folding mechanism and compact dimensions
Thanks to an sophisticated triple mechanism, the overall volume of the Lemmo Zero can be drastically reduced: when folded, it is 40% smaller than most conventional 20-inch folding bike models and 20% smaller than typical 16-inch folding bike models. It fits easily into the boot of various NIO models and even into a standard 28 inch suitcase!
Lemmo emphasises that the folding process is simple and intuitive. With the help of a magnetic locking system and a quick-release fastener, the bike can be folded in just 30 seconds and unfolded again in 15 seconds. Practical: thanks to the push mode with two small wheels, the folded bike does not need to be lifted.

In addition to its compact dimensions, the Lemmo Zero is characterised by its high-end materials. The frame and front fork are made of T700 and T800 carbon fibres from Toray, which combine exceptional strength with low weight. This keeps the net weight below 10.5 kg, and even with a full electrical system, the bike weighs just 12.5 kg!
Lightweight E+ drive and versatile battery
At its core, the Lemmo Zero features E+ technology, enabling smooth transitions between human-powered and electric-assisted riding:
The removable Smartpac Air integrates the battery, the electronic control system and the IoT modules. The Smartpac has a range of 30–40 km, is waterproof to IP66 and can be charged quickly with 65W. It also functions as a power bank for smartphones and laptops. With its 160 Wh capacity, it complies with airline regulations and allows users to travel worldwide without restrictions.

The compact hub motor in the front wheel has a dual-mode hub with a low-resistance clutch design that generates virtually no resistance when riding manually. In electric assist mode, the high-speed internal rotor motor, which weighs just 900g, delivers up to 400 W and 30 Nm of torque, which should make it easy to tackle both city streets and steep slopes. A high-precision torque sensor should ensure a smooth, natural riding experience. Thanks to a 5-speed derailleur gear system from Shimano, the bike should also be suitable for different terrain conditions. The equipment also includes mechanical disc brakes, an ergonomic saddle and removable pedals.
Of course, the Lemmo Zero also features all the advanced connectivity systems that we already know from the Lemmo One: Equipped with GPS, Bluetooth, 4G modules and OTA capabilities, it keeps the rider up to date wherever they are. With the Lemmo app, users can also track real-time cycling data such as cadence, power, speed and battery status.

Pricing and availability
The Lemmo Zero can now be reserved directly on the manufacturer’s website for a deposit of 150 euros. This advance reservation makes the bike available at a reduced total price of 1,790 euros including the Smartpac Air. The regular retail price of the bike will later be — still attractive — 2,390 euros. In terms of colours, there is a choice between a light silver and the darker space grey, with the first deliveries scheduled for October.
