E-bike specialist Coboc will be sending its versatile newcomer Iseo on tour from March 2021. Whether through the urban jungle or on the ambitious cross-country circuit, for the first time the Heidelberg-based company is offering a genuine e-trekking bike that is impressive in many respects.
The e-bike experts recently proved that Coboc can also get off the beaten track with their Torino graveler (we tested the bike here) and Merano all-rounder. The new Iseo model, a travel-friendly e-trekking bike that extends the radius of the Coboc models once again, has now also made it into this notch. And some things are different that were otherwise rather typical of Coboc: for example, the Iseo is the first slim e-bike in the family to iron out unevenness with a telescopic suspension fork. With 60 millimeters of suspension travel, it gently cushions suburban gravel tracks, potholes in asphalt or urban cobblestones.
Another novelty: whereas the sensor was previously located in the bottom bracket on Coboc bikes, it is now integrated directly into the motor on the new Tourer. This further refinement of torque measurement results in an even more natural response and therefore handling. The new motor is also particularly quiet, powerful and light. Despite the drive and suspension fork, the Iseo is still a lightweight at just 18 kilograms. This means that cycling trips are easy to master, because thanks to the built-in tailwind and full equipment with integrated lights and Coboc bag holders, no sacrifices have been made in terms of comfort.
Speaking of comfort: ergonomics also plays a major role at the Iseo. While sizes S and M are equipped with 27.5-inch wheels, L and XL have 28-inch wheels. An additionally lowered top tube with a slight bend in the case of size S provides for more overhang height so that smaller people in particular can ride well with the well thought-out geometry. All in all, this is a real added value, as the Iseo covers the ergonomic needs of almost all riders.
Despite all the new features, the Iseo remains true to Coboc’s purist design language, as all components, including the drive unit, light and luggage rack, are barely visible and form-fittingly accommodated. The headlight is from Litemove, type SE-150D, and the tail light is integrated directly into the frame as usual. Additional comfort is provided by the saddle Essenza Athletic by Selle Royal and matching handlebar grips by Ergon.
The new Coboc Iseo will be available from March 2021 in the frame colors Emerald Grey and Rooftop Red, and the price for the versatile bike will be 4,799 euros. Further information is available on the Coboc website.
