Coboc’s Urban-E-Graveler Torino (which we have already tested here) gets an agile brother: from now on, the new Torino GRV is hungry for the next gravel tracks and off-road trails thanks to significantly more gravel DNA.
The Urban line from Coboc stands for e-bikes that don’t look like e-bikes: minimalist in design, fast in acceleration, restrained in weight. Made for the city and tarmac, but depending on the model, also for excursions outside urban areas. This includes the Torino, one of the first urban e-bikes with gravel ambitions to join the Heidelberg-based e-bike specialist’s fleet in 2019.
Now the Torino GRV joins its side as a sporty brother. The frame has been adapted to 28-inch wheels and should therefore ensure greater agility. The bike also comes with 40-millimetre-wide WTB Venture tyres, which are designed to provide plenty of grip on gravel thanks to their tread pattern. The e-drive is based on the in-house CBC02 motor in the rear wheel, which is controlled by a torque sensor. The 360 Wh battery is permanently installed in the down tube and is operated very minimally via a button on the underside of the top tube — we are already familiar with this principle from the regular Torino and other bikes from the manufacturer. The same applies to the integrated lighting system, which consists of the compact Supernova headlight with a powerful 235 lumens and the specially developed LED rear light in the seat tube. Optional mudguards can also be retrofitted to the bike.
Thanks to the Shimano GRX gears with 11 gears, the Torino GRV should make it easy to master long tours, climb metres in altitude or maintain high speeds — with or without the motor switched on, because at 14.9 kg, the bike is a real lightweight. Hydraulic disc brakes, which also come from Shimano’s GRX series, provide the necessary deceleration.
The Torino GRV is available in the snow-white metallic colour Walter White in four frame sizes from S to XL, priced at 4,499 euros.
