New cooperation with Volkswagen

Lemmo Zero ID. UNYX 08 — the 4+2 smart mobility concept now with Volkswagen

We’re already familiar with the Lemmo Zero: a compact e-bike specifically designed to be used in combination with other modes of transport. To kick things off, Lemmo teamed up with the Chinese car brand NIO and launched an initial special edition model for the NIO ET5 and ET5T. The idea behind it: not just using the bike and car side by side, but integrating them as seamlessly as possible — a concept that they pursue under the slogan ‘4+2 Smart Mobility’.

Lemmo’s connections with China seem to be working well, as the next special model is already on the way — this time a limited edition developed in collaboration with Volkswagen for the exclusively there available Volkswagen ID. UNYX 08. Here, too, the focus is on integration with the vehicle, conceived just as consistently as before: rather than simply placing the bike in the boot, there is a coordinated storage concept that effectively makes the Lemmo Zero an extension of the car. Technically, the bike itself remains unchanged, but visually the edition stands out with a special “Black Warrior” design inspired by the ID. UNYX 08 vehicle design.

A clever storage solution: how the ID. UNYX 08 Edition has been integrated

The compact dimensions when folded are undoubtedly the highlight of the Lemmo Zero. The bike can reportedly be folded up in just 15 seconds, taking up significantly less space than comparable folding bikes. Its light weight is also striking: according to the manufacturer, it weighs just 10.8 kilograms when ready to ride — a feat achieved, among other things, by the carbon frame. The battery, known as the Smartpac, is removable and weighs just 2.3 kilograms on its own.

What makes it special is that the bike can be used both as a standard bicycle and with electric assistance, and is based on Lemo’s modular ‘E+’ platform. Thanks to this technology, the motor can be completely disconnected mechanically, allowing the bike to be ridden without any resistance from the electric drive. According to the manufacturer, a range of up to 40 kilometres is possible with electric assistance. This is complemented by features such as ride data recording and GPS, and the Smartpac even offers a power bank function for charging mobile devices.

Over here, the standard version of the Lemmo Zero is available in Space Grey and Silver

All in all, it’s clear that Lemmo is currently driving the ‘car plus bike’ concept forward, particularly in China — and is now doing so with two well-known partners. However, the new special edition is only available there. That said, the standard version of the Lemmo Zero offers the same innovative features as the special edition, apart from its appearance, and can be ordered here too — for a comparatively affordable 2,390 euros in Space Grey or Silver.
