Until now, Omnium has been best known for its distinctive cargo bikes with a large rear wheel, small front wheel, and a loading area above. The Danish brand has established itself in the urban transport scene with its Cargo, Mini-Max, and Mini models. With the new Nano, Omnium is now expanding its range with a particularly compact model that is clearly geared towards the requirements of dense cities and translates the cargo bike concept into a more manageable format.

Unlike previous Omnium bikes, the Nano features two equally sized (or small 😉 ) 20-inch wheels with 55 mm wide tires. The shorter wheelbase and smaller wheels should ensure agile, fast handling and enable a compact overall length of just 1,498 mm, which makes maneuvering in narrow city centers and parking in small apartments easier. Despite the reduced dimensions, the transport capacity remains impressive: the bike’s maximum weight is stated as up to 125 kilograms!
Although there is only one frame size, the Nano is designed to suit riders between 160 and 190 cm tall. Technically, it is based on its larger siblings: IS brake mounts and a thru-axle at the front ensure familiar standards. The Nano will initially be launched as a purely analog bike without motor assistance. However, a mechanical derailleur from SRAM is installed for the smoothest possible propulsion: the Apex 11-speed groupset works with a 42-tooth chainring and an 11–36 cassette.

Omnium uses well-known solutions from the platform for its accessories. A side-folding loading area reduces the width when parking. With Nano Webbing, the carrier can be flexibly covered with a woven textile cover, and the Nano Extender expands the loading area as needed. Stands, lighting, and mudguards are also available, allowing the bike to be configured directly as an everyday vehicle.
Visually, the Omnium features two colours: a striking Pastel Pink and a deep Bottle Green. Priced at 2,420 euros, the new, fully equipped Nano is positioned slightly below the previous entry-level model, the Mini, which starts at 2,680 euros. However, those who wish to build their own dream bike can also purchase the frameset separately for 1,130 euros.
