Once a year, Diamant launches a special edition bike — and these are usually bikes with that certain something, which was already evident in the last models 136 and 135. The model number that gives the bike its name refers to the time since the Diamant bicycle factory was founded in 1885, so it is only logical that the 2022 model series will be followed by collection bike 137, which combines tradition and current trends:
In the 70s, gravel was part of the standard that our road bikes had to face. Touring bikes from Diamant were widely used road bikes with racks. The Diamant 137 continues this history and combines it with the current gravel trend. The complete equipment makes the bike available for everyday use at the same time.
The Diamant 137, for example, is designed as a gravel commuter bike and comes with an aluminium frame and carbon fork in classic metallic oxide green, refined with gold logos and trim. The 35mm narrow Bontrager tyres with their brown sidewall contribute to the retro look, as do the brown Selle Royal saddle and the brown Brooks Cambium handlebar tape. The bike’s gears are contemporary, with Shimano’s GRX groupset and 22 gears (2×11) and disc brakes, as is the LED lighting, which is powered by a hub dynamo in the front wheel. The everyday commuter equipment with mudguards and a rack round off the complete package.
The weight of the Diamant 137 is 11.2 kg and the frame is available in five sizes from S to XXL. As usual, interested parties should hurry with their order, because this model is also likely to be available for only one season — at a price of 1,999 euros.
