Safety first: If you want to protect your expensive bicycle or e-bike optimally against theft, lock it up consistently. But with what? U-locks made of high-quality, hardened materials offer comparatively little surface for attempted break-ins. With a shackle resistance of up to seven tons, the extra-large U6 U-lock from Trelock can withstand even the toughest of break-in attempts and is therefore the security chief of the new U-lock line, which comprises a total of eight variants.
Whether in the city or in the country, at the street lamp or in the cellar, every day around 1,000 bicycles fall victim to thieves in Germany. Among the variety of bicycle locks, U-locks enjoy the reputation of being the safest bicycle locks of all, especially when it comes to securing expensive bicycles. Trelock, the security expert from Münster, is now launching its new series of reliable U-Locks with specially developed holders: eight variants that meet the most diverse requirements in terms of size, security and flexibility. Maximum security with Security Level 6 (of 6) is offered by the Trelock U6 model made of strong, hardened steel that can withstand up to seven tons of force. The extra-large top model, which is available in two sizes (23 and 30 cm), is particularly easy to operate thanks to the reversible key. A dust protection cap protects the IN-X® inner track cylinder, which by the way is much more secure than a conventional pin cylinder lock and offers the best protection against gripping and drilling attacks. This makes the U6 so sturdily constructed that it takes quite a bit to crack the U-lock on the open road. This is also sealed by the test verdict of August 2017 from Stiftung Warentest, which gave the U6 with a length of 30 cm a rating of 1.6. As with all U-locks in the new Trelock line, a flexible holder allows the lock to be easily attached to different parts of the bicycle frame – just as you would find it safe and practical. In addition to the internationally certified top lock U6, the unobtrusively designed Trelock shackle lock series is complemented by the models U5 and U4, which are available in different lengths with and without additional loop cable for maximum security. Comfortable for the owner, but less attractive for thieves.
