The mayor or the mayoress? In German, “Bürgermeister*in” stands for both, and yet this question doesn’t matter — because this bike should appeal to everyone! With Bürgermeisterin, Standert from Berlin have created a new urban bike that celebrates the classic steel frame: filigree tubes made of 4130 CrMo steel, hand-built and painted in Taiwan. Plus numerous details and, as a highlight, a handlebar stem unit painted in the frame colour on the limited LTD models.
For versatile use in everyday life, there are mounting options on the frame for mudguards, kickstand and racks; in addition, basically all types of transmission can be used: from the classic derailleur to hub gears to a purist singlespeed bike, everything is possible — even the use of a belt drive is supported!
Bürgermeister*in bikes
Standert offers the bike as a complete bike with a SRAM Apex 11-speed derailleur (11-42), the disc brakes are also from SRAM. The tyres come from Teravail and are 27.5″ or 28″, depending on the frame size — there are seven sizes from 48 to 60. The integrated lighting system by Supernova, which is powered by a hub dynamo, is remarkable. The saddle and grips are by Brooks, and the frame colours are Desert Sunrise, Glacier Glow and Purple Reign.
As a limited edition, the bikes are also available with the aforementioned handlebar-stem combination in frame colour, as shown here.
Frameset
In addition to the complete bikes, Standert also offers the option of buying only the frameset — so that you can then build it according to your own ideas. This is also available in the colours mentioned, as an LTD version or in the regular version with a polished stem.
Bürgermeister*in is available as a complete bike for 2,199 euros, the LTD version costs 100 euros extra. The frameset is 949 euros or 1,049 euros (LTD). All further information is available directly from Standert. Also available as a frameset
