Omnium x Cinelli: Two cycling icons, one extraordinary cargo bike

A cargo bike that looks like a legendary track racing bike? It sounds like a crazy idea at first. But that’s exactly what makes the new Supercargo from Omnium and Cinelli so exciting. Here, two brands have joined forces, each having achieved cult status in completely different ways: Omnium with its unusually sporty cargo bikes, and Cinelli as one of the most influential brands in Italian cycling history.

The result is the Supercargo, a special edition limited to just 120 units, whose design is directly inspired by the legendary Cinelli Laser. The Azzurro Laser paint finish is particularly striking. The name is not a marketing term, but a colour code from the Cinelli archives – for it was precisely this shade of blue that characterised the Laser track bike, which was one of the most famous bicycles of all in the 1980s. On a modern cargo bike, the colour appears both unusual and fascinating – an exciting dialogue between two eras of bicycle manufacturing.

The designers have also consistently reflected the fusion of the two brands in the finer details. The famous winged Cinelli ‘C’ has been reworked into an ‘O’ for this project and combined with Omnium’s characteristic inverted ‘U’. Together with a specially designed Columbus and Omnium frame label, this collaboration is clearly evident. Technically, the Supercargois based on Omnium’s well-known Cargo frame, which combines Columbus and Omnium tubes. This brings Italian steel-framing tradition and modern cargo bike construction into direct contact.

To complement the bike, Omnium and Cinelli have also launched a small collection featuring caps, shirts, socks, water bottles and a messenger bag – all designed, of course, to match the theme. The graphics feature the skylines of Milan and Copenhagen, thereby visually bridging the gap between the two brands and their places of origin.

The Supercargo is available as a frameset from 1,800 euros and as a complete bike from 3,550 euros. However, if you want to get your hands on one, you shouldn’t wait too long: only 120 frames will be available worldwide. More information about the collaboration can be found here on the Omnium website.
