As an ideal bike for trips in the city as well as for longer tours Tenways promotes its brand new AGO T. This versatility is reflected in particular in the comprehensive equipment: it includes not only a powerful mid-drive motor with a relatively large battery and a low-maintenance powertrain with continuously variable gears and belt drive but also mudguards, lights and rear rack for everyday use.
Comprehensive equipment with powerful motor and stepless shifting
But let’s go into a bit of detail: great to look at is already the attractive step-through comfort frame, whose rear rack is elegantly integrated into the frame design and forms a structural unit with the straight chainstay to the rear wheel. The mid-range motor from Bafang of the type M410 offers a torque of 80 Nm, which is currently quite in the upper region. This motor is combined with a quiet, clean and almost maintenance-free belt drive from Gates instead of a conventional bicycle chain.
This belt drive links the motor to the rear hub, which comes from Enviolo. Installed here is their stepless hub gear, which works just as maintenance-free and quietly and which allows the gear ratio to be infinitely adjusted. This is done manually via a twist grip on the comfortably shaped handlebar, which can also be individually adjusted in height thanks to the adjustable stem.
Comfort is the focus at the AGO T
You can see: Comfort is in focus on this bike! Certainly the suspension fork installed at the front and the suspension seatpost contribute to this, as well as the 50 mm wide and puncture-proof tires from CST. For the longest possible trips should provide the fairly large battery with a capacity of 504 Wh, which can be removed from the frame for easier handling to recharge.
The electric drive is operated via a compact button on the left side of the handlebars, and a large display is also installed in the center. This can then also control the permanently installed lighting system, which consists of an integrated front headlight in the frame and a rear light on the rear rack.
It is only logical that such extensive equipment also contributes to a higher base weight of the bike — in the case of the AGO T, it is a whole 30 kilograms according to Tenways, which is quite a lot. Nevertheless, the maximum permissible total weight of rider, bike and luggage is pleasingly high at 150 kg!
Conclusion
With a price of 2,699 euros, the new Tenways AGO T is the most expensive e-bike of the manufacturer so far — but still attractively priced compared to the equipment. The combination of a powerful mid-mounted motor, continuously variable transmission and maintenance-free belt drive is often significantly more expensive from other manufacturers. The AGO T will be available for order on the Tenways website from July 10, and interested parties can choose between the three colors jungle green, pearl white and midnight black.
