The launch of Bosch’s new hub motor also brought a new urban e-bike from Gazelle into the spotlight. The Curb is not due to go on sale until the autumn, but a limited-edition special version is already available. In collaboration with the Danish fashion house Mads Nørgaard Copenhagen, a model has been created that combines cycling and design culture.
Dutch cycling tradition meets Danish design
This collaboration brings together two brands that have much in common. For generations, Gazelle has been synonymous with well-designed bicycles, whilst Mads Nørgaard is known for his distinctive Danish design. Together, they demonstrate just how closely mobility and design can be intertwined today: whilst Gazelle has been developing bicycles for more than 130 years, Mads Nørgaard is one of the best-known names on the Danish fashion scene. The brand’s characteristic striped patterns, in particular, have long enjoyed cult status and now also form the central design element of this special edition.

The new Curb as a special edition
The collaboration centres on the new Gazelle Curb, shown here in the single-speed version with a toothed belt instead of a conventional bicycle chain. The new e-bike has been specially developed for urban use and features Bosch’s new Hub Line, the manufacturer’s first hub motor.
A particularly distinctive feature is the front of the bike, which forms a single visual unit from the fork right up to the handlebars and, with its matt finish, stands out from the rest of the glossy frame. For this special edition, the Curb has also been given a unique look featuring Mads Nørgaard’s signature stripes. These distinctive stripes give the Curb an unmistakable look, transforming the already stylish urban e-bike into a true design statement. The striking design harmonises perfectly with the clean lines of the new model.
Five copies worldwide
Only five examples of this limited-edition special model will go on sale. Anyone wishing to get their hands on one must pre-register here on the Gazelle website by September – and, with a bit of luck, they’ll then have the chance to purchase one of these unique bikes. Every single bike is hand-painted and assembled at the Gazelle factory in Dieren, the Netherlands. The package also includes a matching striped shirt by Mads Nørgaard – bringing Dutch craftsmanship and Danish design together in perfect harmony.

First glimpse of the production model
Priced at 2,399 euros, the special edition is in line with the target retail price of the standard version. For collectors and design enthusiasts, however, it is the extremely limited production run that is likely to be the main attraction. At the same time, the collaboration offers a first glimpse of the new Curb, which is due to be launched as standard this autumn – without the stripes this time, but with an optional derailleur and a second frame shape for a more comfortable step-through.
