Continental introduces new tire category with Ruban and eRuban Plus

Continental is introducing two new models that add a new tire category to the range — the SUV all-rounder. Thus, the Ruban and eRuban Plus were developed for outstanding performance on and off the road.

The series includes the models Ruban, which is available as Clincher and Tubeless-Ready version, and the eRuban Plus, specifically designed for S-pedelecs. The Ruban takes its cues from mountain biking. The Ruban has a grippy width, comes with a lug-strong, wide profile and can also be ridden as a tubeless-ready option. Unlike original MTB tires, however, which can lose speed on asphalt, the Ruban and eRuban Plus have an energy-saving center tread, so that even changing surfaces should not be a challenge.

Both Ruban and eRuban Plus are equipped with numerous technology: PureGrip Compound is the mixture for high grip and durability. The ShieldWall System is an additional, all-round puncture protection layer, which consists of a finely woven cross fabric. The PolyX BreakerTM is an extremely resistant polyester fiber that has been successfully used in passenger cars for years. And the PlusBreaker, a highly elastic rubber layer that makes the tire virtually impenetrable to foreign bodies.

At the heart of every product development at Continental are the safety aspects and puncture protection: both the Ruban and the eRuban Plus offer the option of a reflective strip, for additional support of visibility in road traffic.
