With the new Tone bike helmet Specialized wants to combine casual style, comfort and safety. With these features, the new helmet is aimed not only at commuters, but also at all casual riders who want to cruise safely and in style around.
The integrated adjustment system thereby facilitates the adjustment of the fit, so that the rider can set off briskly. Once on the move, the internal channels are designed to keep the air in the helmet moving, ensuring the necessary riding comfort. For maximum safety, the MIPS technology and integrated reflectors for better visibility during the day and night. The MIPS system provides a low-friction layer that allows a sliding movement of 10 to 15 mm in all directions. Studies indicate that this layer effectively reduces the rotational forces transmitted to the brain during lateral force impacts.
In addition, the Tone is also compatible with the ANGi Crash Sensor from Specialized: a small sensor module equipped with an integrated accelerometer and gyroscope that can be attached directly to the helmet. The fall detection of the sensor then allows in the event of a detected accident the emergency location by means of the coupled smartphone app of the rider.
The Specialized Tone is available in three sizes (S, M, L) and five color options: Birch/Taupe, Deep Marine Metallic, Limestone/Birch, Smoke and White/Morning Mist. The recommended retail price is 80 euros.
