We recently published our review of the Electric G Line – now Brompton is introducing an additional version based on this folding bike, called City+, which is specifically designed for use in the city and promises a new riding experience. The aim is to meet the demand from many customers for greater comfort and a more upright seating position – and once again demonstrates how quickly Brompton responds to feedback when it comes to innovation ‘Made in London’.
What’s new in the City+ version
Thanks to the newly designed, ergonomic handlebars and raised handlebar stem, the new City+ variant offers a comfortable upright riding position – ideal for relaxed city rides or trips into the countryside.

A new, extra-wide, padded saddle combined with Schwalbe Big Apple tyres, which are designed to provide improved shock absorption, ensures an exceptionally smooth and low-vibration ride – according to Brompton, with up to 36% less handlebar vibration, even on uneven surfaces. ‘The riding experience is significantly different from the classic G Line – incredibly smooth, quiet and precise. It perfectly embodies our vision of urban mobility,’ says the London-based company.

As usual, the City+ combines Brompton’s proven folding technology with 20-inch wheels, the powerful e-Motiq drive system and typical British design standards. The model will initially be released as a limited edition. Weighing 19.5 kg (including battery) and with compact folding dimensions of 73 × 69 × 40 cm, the City+ remains a true Brompton – just with added comfort.
The G Line City+ is currently only available as an electric version in size M at a price of 4,299 euros and comes in four elegant colours: Space Black, Forest Green, Adventure Orange and Traildust White. Further information about the bike is available directly here at Brompton.
