Upgrade for your kids’ bike: Moto Micro Pedal with colorful reflective strip

We already know Moto from Berlin through their Moto Reflex, an all-round pedal with a minimalist design, flat platform and a durable griptape surface, as seen on skateboards. It is considered robust, low-maintenance and ideal for urban use.

Now it has a smaller counterpart for young riders: the Moto Micro. Visually, it remains true to the clear design language of the original, but has been scaled down in all dimensions to suit children. Measuring 63 × 83 millimetres, with a height of 15 millimetres and a weight of 256 grams per pair, it is significantly more compact and lighter than the Moto Reflex, but retains its technical basis with stainless steel axles and durable plain bearings.

Compared to standard kids bike pedals – in our case, the pedal of a Woom 3 – the Moto Micro is a little shorter but wider, offering a surprisingly stable and secure footing thanks to its flat surface covered entirely with grip tape. The coarser grain of the grip tape ensures reliable grip even in rainy conditions.

The pedal deliberately avoids aggressive studs, pins or hard edges: the completely smooth, pleasantly rounded design protects feet and shins – a real advantage when children come into frequent contact with the pedal while playing, climbing or manoeuvring.

Since children grow quickly, the Moto Micro is designed to easily accommodate this development. A special axle bearing allows the distance between the pedal and crank to be extended by 0.5 centimetres. This means that even growing feet can still fit comfortably, and the pedal will accompany children for several years.

The appearance of the kids’ pedal can also be adapted to suit the preferences of young cyclists. In addition to the version shown here with pink reflective strips, it is also available in white, yellow, orange, blue and green. And if their favourite colour changes later on, the reflective film can be easily replaced without having to replace the entire pedal.

In addition to pink, the Moto Micro pedal is also available with reflective strips in white, yellow, orange, blue and green.

Overall, the Moto Micro presents itself as a stylish, safe and durable children’s version of the Moto Reflex. It combines minimalist design with high everyday practicality, grows with the child to a certain extent and offers convincing grip in all situations thanks to its non-slip grip tape. And the possibility of customisation with their favourite colour is also a big deal for kids, as we all know 😉

The price is 45 euros per pedal set, which is slightly less than the regular Moto Reflex pedals. Given the current occasion, it is also worth taking a look at the ongoing Black Friday promotion:
