With the new Sneak 3 EQ, Rose Bikes is launching its new urban model, which uses Shimano’s Q’Auto automatic gear shifting system for the first time — we have already introduced it in detail in this article. The special feature: the system does not require a battery at all. Instead, a hub dynamo generates the necessary energy during the ride, which is stored in a capacitor — for up to a year, according to Shimano. This makes the shifting system completely energy self-sufficient and low-maintenance.

Q’Auto uses integrated sensors to recognise speed, cadence and incline and automatically selects the appropriate gear. The gears can also be adjusted manually using a wireless switch on the handlebars. The system remembers these interventions and adapts future gear changes to individual riding behaviour. If you prefer, you can also use Q’Auto completely manually.

Apart from the innovative shifting system, the Sneak 3 EQ offers the familiar qualities of the other Sneak models: at around 14 kg, it is pleasantly light and equipped with a sporty, elegant aluminium frame and carbon fork. The commuter features include integrated lighting — at the front with the LightSkin headlight in the handlebars — a pannier rack, mudguards and a kickstand.
The Sneak 3 EQ is available for 2,399 euros directly here in the Rose online shop. It is available in the HighStep diamond frame shape with a high top tube in the colours Chalk and Faded Denim and as a MidStep with a comfort frame in Chalk and Light Mint.
