Travel season is just around the corner — a good reason to draw attention to the new Brompton G Line, which we have already introduced in detail here and is currently also undergoing our test program. The compact folding bike is a particularly useful addition for anyone traveling by bus, camper or van: it provides mobility exactly where large vehicles reach their limits — for example in narrow alleyways, on campsites or for short errands in the city.

With its G Line, Brompton is introducing 20-inch wheels to its portfolio for the first time – a significant step for all those who want more riding comfort and better riding characteristics on uneven surfaces. The newly developed frame geometry is available in three sizes and has been specifically adapted to the larger wheels. Schwalbe G-One tires (tubeless-ready) provide good grip and cushioning – both on paved roads and on gravel or forest paths. Hydraulic disc brakes are also installed for safe braking in all weathers. The 8-speed gear hub from Shimano is robust, low-maintenance and reliably protects the technology from water, dirt and mechanical influences thanks to its encapsulated design.

The G Line is also available as an e-bike: with the Electric G Line, the drive is fully integrated into the frame for the first time — including a 345 Wh battery in the front pocket, which should enable ranges of up to 60 kilometers. This can be removed in one easy step and charged independently of the bike. Electric assistance is provided by a rear hub motor, which is controlled via three assistance levels. The specially tuned 4-speed gearbox should then ensure harmonious power transmission, even on inclines or longer distances. Incidentally, firmware updates can be carried out easily via Bluetooth.
Despite all the technical innovations, the Brompton principle remains the same: The bike can be folded up compactly in just a few seconds and thus stowed safely and space-savingly in the vehicle.

For all those who continue to rely on the classic 16-inch format, there is also a new feature: the (Electric) C Line is now also available with 12 gears – ideal for riders with higher range or gear ratio requirements.
The new G Line is available from 2,849 euros, while the Electric G Line starts at 3,999 euros. Both versions are available in the colors Adventure Orange, Forest Green and Traildust White in Brompton Junction Stores, at selected specialist dealers and at brompton.com.
