At the end of last year, the quite attractive urban e-bikes from Decathlon’s in-house brand Elops were introduced. At the start, the new bikes of the LD500E series were available in the subtle colors anthracite gray (HF model with diamond frame) and gray-green (LF model with trapezoidal frame). To make sure that the 2023 season continues in a more colorful way, Decathlon is now adding a further color variant to each of the familiar models: the Elops LD500E HF is now also available in the light color Kitt, while the Elops LD500E LF is available in shimmering red Sepia.
In terms of specs, this does not change anything: In summary, this means that both bikes are equipped with a hub motor in the rear wheel and a removable 500 Wh battery. The motor is controlled by a torque sensor, which promises a particularly natural support of the motor. The rest of the bike’s equipment is suitable for everyday use with a lighting system, mudguards, a kickstand and a rear rack — leaving nothing to be desired. In addition to the design, the price is also attractive: Decathlon charges a low 1,649 euros for the bike!
By the way, there is a detailed review of the Elops LD500E in this article, where you can also see the two already known colors. Interested parties can buy the bike directly here on Decathlon’s website, the shipping costs are just under 20 euros. Alternatively, the bike can also be picked up via Click & Collect directly in the nearest store ready to ride, in which case there are no shipping costs.
