Even after 50 years in business, the folding bike icon Brompton shows no signs of slowing down – quite the opposite, in fact! Today, the British company is unveiling not only its lightest e-bike to date, the Electric T Line, but also the new e-Motiq drive system, which will be used in all electric model series from now on.

From the success of the Electric G Line to the new Electric range
First of all, the e-Motiq system is not entirely new: rear-wheel drive already made its debut in the Electric G Line with its 20-inch wheels – a huge success that far exceeded the manufacturer’s expectations. The enthusiastic feedback has now encouraged Brompton to extend the system to its entire product range. This means that from now on, it will also be used in the Electric C Line, Electric P Line and the brand new Electric T Line.

The centrepiece of the system is a specially developed rear wheel hub motor with up to 30 Nm of torque in the Electric G Line and 24 Nm in the Electric C, P and T Line bikes with their small 12-inch wheels. In combination with a torque sensor and the removable 300 Wh battery at the front, the system is designed to provide harmonious, natural assistance.

Smart update: new e-Motiq handlebar control with display
A brand new feature in the system is the new e-Motiq Handlebar Control – a compact control unit with a display that integrates all important riding data, assistance settings and lighting controls directly on the handlebars. In conjunction with the Brompton Electric app, users also benefit from intelligent range forecasts and over-the-air updates. And the system learns as it goes: it analyses individual riding behaviour over the first 100 kilometres and continuously adjusts its calculations – so the display always provides realistic values for battery and range.

Another new feature is the Start Assist mode, which makes it easy to start the bike on inclines or in heavy city traffic. In Walk Assist mode, the motor provides assistance when pushing the bike at speeds of up to 6 km/h – ideal for pushing on train platforms, ramps or narrow passages.
Electric T Line – the lightest Brompton Electric ever
The highlight of the new collection is the Electric T Line. Weighing just 11.2 kilograms without the battery (14.1 kg with battery) in the single-speed version, it is Brompton’s lightest folding e-bike to date. The bike is also available with a 4-speed derailleur gear system. The combination of titanium and carbon not only makes it particularly lightweight, but also exceptionally rigid and durable. With a range of up to 90 kilometres, the Electric T Line combines unrivalled portability for a first-class riding experience.

Like every Brompton, the Electric T Line can be folded into a compact package in less than 20 seconds. Thanks to SuperRoll+ technology, the bike is particularly easy to roll, pull and carry – perfect for commuters and urban nomads who value flexibility and style in equal measure.
