Tour and adventure instead of SUV

For tour and adventure: the new Orbea Kemen e-bikes

Just at the beginning of this year, Orbea presented their very own interpretation of a modern urban bike with the Diem, which boasts a high level of integration — and which we have already tested in detail here.

Now, two new models based on the Kemen family are set to follow, which should also score with performance, intelligent design and personalization options. Until now, we have known the Kemen bikes as fairly lightweight SUV models equipped with a powerful Shimano mid-motor and a permanently installed battery. Now two new family members are following, each optimized for their specific use: the Kemen Tour and the Kemen Adventure.

Both share the same frame platform, which offers a diamond frame with a high top tube as well as a comfort frame in a trapezoidal shape. The bikes also have a suspension fork and full commuter equipment, as we know it from the aforementioned Diem: So here too there is the integrated cockpit with smartphone holder, USB-C charging option, position light and the first-class Supernova headlight, which is built into the handlebars. A rear light is also integrated into the rear mudguard and there are several carrier options.

Kemen Tour and Kemen Adventure: these are the differences

While the Kemen Tour with its narrower road tires is designed more for speed and versatility at the start, the Kemen Adventure (Kemen ADV for short) also feels at home on rough terrain — thanks to its wide knobby tires and suspension fork with slightly more travel. Both model series are available in 3 versions:

  • Orbea Kemen Tour 30: Shimano EP6 mid-drive motor with 540 Wh battery and Shimano Cues 9-speed derailleur gears. Supernova Starstream Pure headlight and SR Suntour NVX suspension fork with 80 mm travel. The braking system comes from Shimano with hydraulic MT200 disc brakes.
  • Orbea Kemen Tour 20: Shimano EP6 mid-drive motor with 630 Wh battery and Shimano Cues 10-speed derailleur gears. Supernova Starstream Pure headlight and SR Suntour NX1 suspension fork with 80 mm travel. The brake system comes from Magura with hydraulic AT2 disc brakes and the seatpost is suspended.
  • Orbea Kemen Tour 10: Shimano EP6 mid-drive motor with 630 Wh battery and Shimano Cues 11-speed derailleur gears. Supernova Starstream Pro headlight with high beam and SR Suntour Mobie34 suspension fork with 80 mm travel. The brake system comes from Magura with hydraulic MT5 E-STOP disc brakes, and a dropper seat post is also fitted.

All Kemen Tour bikes are fitted with 50 mm wide Schwalbe Marathon tires and the Mik/Ortlieb QL3.1-compatible pannier rack offers a 20 kg load capacity. The color palette for all bikes consists of Diamond Black, Ivory White and Spaceship Green.

All variants of the new bikes can be upgraded with a front carrier that offers a load capacity of 10 kg and are compatible with many child seats and trailers. There is also an additional range extender battery with 252 Wh. Prices for the new models start at 3,499 euros for the Kemen Tour 30, 3,999 euros for the Kemen Tour 20 and 4,599 euros for the Kemen Tour 10. 100 euros are added for the Adventure version: the Kemen ADV 30 starts at 3,599 euros, the Kemen ADV 20 at 4,099 euros and the Kemen ADV 10 at 4,699 euros.
