For the 2026 model year, Kalkhoff is unveiling updated e-bikes of its 5-level series with a significantly increased load capacity. Like the already updated ENTICE 5+, the new IMAGE 5+ and ENDEAVOUR 5+ models have a modern frame platform that is designed for everyday use, stability and comfort. The new models have been developed to meet the increasing demands for robust e-bikes that function reliably even when fully loaded to 180 kg.
Die Highlights der neuen 5er-Level Serie
Kalkhoff relies on its many years of experience in building e-bikes for high loads. The company developed special XXL models back in the 2000s, making it one of the first manufacturers to systematically include e-bikes with increased load capacity in its range.

In addition to the increased load capacity, the focus is on extending the service life of the components. From model year 2026, specially developed components will be tested for their durability under realistic conditions. Frames, stems, handlebars and seat posts will undergo tests over at least 35,000 kilometres, while wheels will be tested over distances of more than 20,000 kilometres. The test methods were developed in co-operation with scientific institutions and were most recently confirmed by the Technical University of Hamburg.
High quality and safety standards are traditionally part of product development at Kalkhoff. The company was involved in the development of technical standards at an early stage and continues to be actively involved in relevant standardisation committees through the head of its own test laboratory.

To improve riding comfort even further, the frame geometry has been revised. A more upright riding position supports a pleasant riding experience, while the integrated cable routing ensures a tidy appearance. Attention has also been paid to everyday practicality when removing the battery: On the diamond frame, the battery is removed from the side, while on the wave variants it is removed using the tried-and-tested toploader solution.
As before, the 5-level series remains extremely versatile: IMAGE 5+ models are designed for urban use and are available with a belt drive, among other things. The ENDEAVOUR 5+ models with derailleur gears are available for trekking-oriented users, while the ENTICE 5+ series is aimed at all-road users. The bikes are complemented by a standard MStrong update for the 5-level seriesIK HD rear carrier with a load capacity of up to 27 kilograms and the option of retrofitting a front carrier.
