Newly redesigned: Moustache’s all-road e-bike Xroad is now even more comfortable

With its Xroad, Moustache has had a bike in its range for years that knows virtually no limits between everyday use and leisure. For the 2026 model year, the French manufacturer has fundamentally revised the concept and added a full-suspension version. A new frame platform, revised motor integration, and numerous detail improvements are designed to make this versatile e-bike more comfortable, more efficient, and at the same time more modern.

Even at first glance, it is clear that a lot has changed in terms of design. The new frame looks sleeker and cleaner, with more flowing lines. The battery and motor are neatly integrated, giving the bike a tidy, high-quality look. Moustache remains true to its philosophy: comfort is the focus, paired with practical solutions.

Everyday comfort

All models feature ergonomic design. A suspension fork, suspension seat post (except for the ES version), a wide saddle, and voluminous 27.5-inch tires from Schwalbe are standard equipment. The low step-through frame makes it easy to get on and off the bike, which is particularly advantageous in everyday use with frequent stops. The battery can be removed – a practical solution if, for example, the bike is stored in a garage but the battery needs to be charged in the home.

The integrated lighting system, mudguards and sturdy luggage rack also contribute to its suitability for everyday use. On the full-suspension FS models, the latter is available either as a slim bag holder or as a full-fledged, suspension-equipped rack, depending on the intended use and load.

All models roll on Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres (27.5 inches), which are designed to perform well on both asphalt and unpaved paths.

Technically up to date

Moustache relies on the latest generation of Bosch motors for its drive systems. Depending on the model, the Performance Line, Performance Line PX or Performance Line CX are used. All variants are integrated into the Bosch Smart System, which means they are also prepared for future software updates and app integration.

Depending on the trim level, battery capacities vary between 500, 540, 600 and 800 watt hours. This means that the Xroad is suitable for both daily commuting and longer trips. There are also differences in the gear system – from 9 to 11 gears, depending on the model series. The series is priced between 2,799 euros and 4,199 euros, making it competitive in the market.

Xroad FS – Full suspension for greater comfort

The full-suspension version, the Xroad FS, is based on a unique frame design that we are already familiar with from the Moustache J (which we reviewed in detail here). The main frame and rear swing arm consist of just two cast aluminium parts connected by a central joint. This saves around 600 grams in weight while also increasing stiffness.

The design allows for a low step-through despite full suspension, which is rarely found in this form. The suspension fork, telescopic seat post and Moustache’s own Magic Grip Control shock absorber ensure a high level of riding comfort on uneven terrain. This clearly positions the Xroad FS as an all-rounder with a focus on comfort and control.

Xroad model range

  • Xroad ES: Entry-level version with Bosch Active Line Plus motor, Purion 200 control unit, 500 Wh battery and Shimano 9-speed gear system. Available as a low step-through or diamond frame, but without full suspension.
  • Xroad 2 and Xroad FS2: Equipped with Bosch Performance Line motor, Purion 200 display and 540 Wh battery (optional 600 Wh). 9-speed derailleur gear system.
  • Xroad 4 and Xroad FS4: With Bosch Performance Line PX motor, Purion 200 display, 600 Wh battery (optional 800 Wh) and 10-speed gear system.

Conclusion

With its new Xroad generation, Moustache has consistently refined its successful model. The manufacturer combines familiar strengths such as comfort and everyday practicality with a modern frame platform and the latest Bosch drive technology. The clear distinction between the conventionally sprung and full-suspension versions, which are specifically designed for different areas of use, is particularly impressive.

The new bikes are expected to be available from mid-October 2025. More info can be found on the Moustache website.
