As a universally applicable front rack, which can be securely attached to almost any bike and offers an uncomplicated solution for transporting your stuff while driving was developed JACK. Accordingly, the front carrier can be called quite an all-rounder, which is to be attached with a tool-free strap system to have any bike. You need neither a special bike frame or a corresponding fork, nor special equipment for mounting and likewise no maintenance knowledge.
In less than a minute and with three simple steps, JACK should be able to be attached to or removed from the bike:
- Attach JACK to handlebar
- Attach strap to top of stem
- Tighten retaining strap on handlebar tube
JACK’s frame is made from a single piece of cold-formed 304 stainless steel — stronger and more durable than regular steel or aluminum, plus rust-resistant. The fabric bottom is sewn from heavy military-grade fabric that complements the sturdy stainless steel frame. Instead of conventional cargo straps for hooking, JACK is equipped with climbing-quality webbing. These can withstand a dynamic load of over 300 kg and are said to be easier to handle.
Thanks to the compact dimensions, the field of application of JACK is diverse: from bikepacking on the GRavel bike to the attachment of a bicycle basket for urban use, almost anything is feasible. Anyone interested in JACK can support the project via the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. There, the carrier can currently be pre-ordered for just under 70 euros, with shipping to Germany costing an additional 15 euros. Delivery is scheduled for May 2022.
