Canyon is showcasing an exciting response to the requirements of modern urban mobility with this study, provisionally labelled a Concept Bike. Still without a final name, but already with a clear direction, this compact e-bike marks the next step towards smart, sustainable urban mobility — right in the middle of the concept phase. Canyon is pursuing an unusual but consistently user-centred approach: instead of launching a finished product, the community is involved at an early stage in order to gather feedback and further develop the bike in line with real needs.

The concept bike is specially designed for everyday urban use: manoeuvrable, light, functional — and stylish and individual at the same time. The electric drive is based on a minimalist system: a quiet hub motor (the OEM remains a secret for the time being) in combination with a single-speed drive ensures uncomplicated, low-maintenance riding. Remarkable for Canyon, whose bikes have never been fitted with a hub motor before!
With a capacity of approx. 300 to 400 Wh, the battery is deliberately kept small to save weight and ensure natural riding dynamics — ideal for short and medium-length journeys in urban areas.

What is particularly exciting are the modular features that make the bike a versatile everyday companion. With a removable front pannier rack, various rear module inserts including a quick-fit system and removable wheel caps, the bike can be flexibly adapted to different usage scenarios — from shopping to a weekend trip to the park. The integrated front and rear lighting ensures visibility and safety in city traffic. And if you want to personalise your bike, you can add a personal touch with sticker packs for the frame and wheel caps.

Whether the concept bike will become a production-ready product is still open — as is the timetable. But this is exactly what makes the project so exciting: the users have a say. Canyon is focussing on genuine participation, openness and innovation — and is already offering a promising outlook on the urban mobility of tomorrow.
