The Rose Rose Backroad Plus Flatbar is still a pretty extraordinary bike – it combines the powerful EP8 full-power drivetrain from Shimano with 85 Nm torque with a surprisingly light weight from 15.6 kg. And even the EQ version of the bike with full commuter equipment (lighting system, mudguards, pannier rack and kickstand) weighed just 17.5 kg ready to ride in our test.
It’s hardly surprising that the bike is so agile to ride! From our conclusion: “[A] bike that is certainly one of the strongest and fastest commuter bikes. With its sporty riding position, powerful motor and spirited riding characteristics, it practically demands to be ridden as fast as possible!”

Die beiden Urban-Varianten vom Backroad Plus Flatbar hat Rose aktuell im Angebot:
- Rose Backroad Plus Flatbar: Shimano EP8 motor, 360 Wh battery (permanently installed), Shimano Deore derailleur gears with 11 gears, Shimano MT200 brake system and Schwalbe G-One tires. Straight handlebars and bike stand.
- Rose Backroad Plus EQ Flatbar: Equipped like the regular flatbar version, but with additional lighting system, mudguards and pannier holder
What’s really exciting: Rose is currently offering a 10% discount with the code “ROSEBIKESALE10”, and the bikes are currently reduced in price anyway. This means that, including the discount, the Rose Backroad Plus Flatbar is currently available for around 3,280 euros and the Rose Backroad Plus EQ Flatbar for as little as 3,460 euros.
A really good deal — especially as the prices at the launch of the Backroad Plus series were still well over 4,000 euros. For more information on the bike, we recommend our detailed review here.
