Cube News for 2025: Kathmandu Hybrid Comfort comes now with hub gears and belt drive

With its Kathmandu Hybrid, Cube has long been offering a bike that is suitable for touring and, with its extensive equipment, should be equipped for almost all kinds of use. While the Kathmandu Hybrid C:62, a particularly lightweight offshoot of the bike with a carbon frame and the Bosch SX drive system, was presented earlier this year, the regular Kathmandu Hybrid has now also been updated. The frame is still made of aluminum and instead of the lightweight SX drive, the more powerful CX motor from Bosch is used. The PowerTube battery is also removable and can be conveniently charged at the desired location.

All bikes come with an air suspension fork and 100 mm travel at the front, suspension seat post and 55 mm wide tires. The stem is adjustable and the pannier rack is firmly integrated into the frame. In addition, a lighting system with front headlight and rear light integrated into the mudguard is always installed.

What is particularly interesting, however, is that the SLX and Pro models are now also available with the suffix Comfort — this designates the variants with the Gates Carbon Drive belt drive and the continuously variable trekking hub gears from Enviolo with 380% gear range. Anyone looking for a low-maintenance, quiet and comfortable drive will certainly be pleased with this option! The Comfort Pro is equipped with manual gears that can be operated using the twist grip on the handlebars, while the Comfort SLX comes with Enviolo’s electronic AutomatiQ version, which handles the gear changes automatically!

Of course, there are still bikes with derailleur gears, ranging from Shimano’s CUES gears with 10 gears to the high-end Kathmandu Hybrid SLT model with electronic Sram XX Eagle AXS transmission and 12 gears. All the new bikes weigh between 26 kg and 28 kg.

With the Kathmandu Hybrid One, Pro, EX (with ABS brakes), EXC, SLX and SLT, Cube offers a total of six equipment variants, as well as the Comfort Pro and Comfort SLX models with belt drive and hub gears. Prices range from 3,099 euros for the One to 5,499 euros for the SLT.

All bikes will be available from October 2024 in three frame shapes and up to four sizes. In addition to the regular diamond frame with a high top tube, all models are also available with a comfort frame in a trapezoidal shape or as a step-through model.
